Rapoport: Jets want Teddy Bridgewater, 'working on a deal'
The New York Jets are "working on a deal" for free agent quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, formerly of the Minnesota Vikings, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
According to Rapoport, Bridgewater is the Jets' "first choice" after they missed out on Kirk Cousins, who reportedly signed with the Minnesota Vikings, but he's expected to have other options. The 25-year-old quarterback remains a bit of an enigma in the NFL, as he's been limited to one game and 2 pass attempts over the past two years after suffering a devastating knee injury during the 2016 offseason.
When Bridgewater last played a full season in 2015, he completed 65.3 percent of his passes for 3,231 passing yards with 14 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He added 192 rushing yards and 3 scores on the ground.
