Richard Sherman signs 3-year deal with 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers have signed cornerback Richard Sherman, formerly of the Seattle Seahawks, to a three-year, $39.15 million contract.
Sherman was cut by the Seahawks two days ago as a cap casualty, but it didn't take him long to find a job down south of Seattle. The contract includes a $5 million signing bonus as well, so the Niners seem to have no worries about Sherman's Achilles. Sherman should slide right in to the starting lineup, and provide some nice play in the back half of San Francisco's defense.
Sherman recorded 35 tackles (25 solo) with 7 pass deflections and 2 interceptions in nine games last season.
