Dolphins' Jarvis Landry might not play under franchise tag

In a social media post, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry said that he is "considering not playing" on the franchise tag this season.

What It Means:

Landry said, "The franchise tag is not a good deal for me." Threatening to sit under the franchise tag isn't a new tactic for any player as the Steelers' Le'Veon Bell has done the same thing to try and build leverage in his negotiations. It's unlikely that Landry would sit out and take the pay hit, though, even if he's unhappy with the situation. If he were to do so, DeVante Parker and Kenny Stills would get a boost in value in the Miami passing game.

This past season, Landry turned 161 targets and 121 catches into 987 yards and 9 scores.
