Steve Smith Sr. officially ruled out Sunday for Ravens
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. (back) has officially been ruled out for Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns.
Smith is dealing with microfractures in his back, so missing Week 5 was expected. This should allow Kamar Aiken to step into a big role.
Aiken finished with seven targets in Week 4 when Smith was limited. He is third on the team overall in targets, trailing only Smith and running back Justin Forsett, so this appears to be his gig. Aiken has turned his 18 targets into 10.76 Reception Net Expected Points this year. Prior to news of Smith being ruled out, our algorithms had Aiken projected at 5 receptions for 60 yards and 0.23 touchdowns.
