Associated Press names Saints' Marshon Lattimore as Defensive Rookie of the Year

New Orleans Saints defensive back Marshon Lattimore has been named the Associated Press NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.

What It Means:

With Alvin Kamara winning the award on the offensive side of the ball, the Saints have swept this season's rookie of the year honors. Lattimore is the first Saint to win the defensive award since its inception in 1967.

Lattimore finished the season with 43 tackles, 18 pass defenses, 5 interceptions, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery and 1 touchdown. The Saints' defense ranked 11th in numberFire's Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play metric.
