Saints' Alvin Kamara named Offensive Rookie of the Year
The Associated Press has named New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year for 2017.
Playing in a timeshare all year didn't keep Kamara from the hardware. Despite Kareem Hunt leading the league in rushing yards, his 21 votes weren't enough to overcome Kamara's versatile game out of the Saints' backfield. He won with 28 of the 50 total votes. Deshaun Watson was the only other player to receive a vote.
Kamara turned 120 rushes and 81 catches into 1,554 total yards and 13 touchdowns. His 90.69 Net Expected Points ranked atop all running backs in 2017.
