Vikings' Jerick McKinnon wants to be a feature back next season
Minnesota Vikings running back Jerick McKinnon has said that he would like to be a feature back next season.
McKinnon is set to become a free agent this off-season, and with rookie Dalvin Cook set to re-claim the team's top running back spot next year, McKinnon would have to look elsewhere for the "bigger and better" role he is looking for.
McKinnon saw 150 carries for a career-high 570 yards and one touchdown this season, though his 3.8 yards per attempt were below his 4.0 career-average. He also contributed a lot through the air, turning 68 targets into 51 receptions and 421 yards. numberFire's models had him as one of the league's least efficient rushers, with his -0.16 Rushing Net Expected points per carry ranking 67th among the 72 backs with at least 50 carries on the year.
