Seahawks' Thomas Rawls rushes for 48 yards in spot start

Seattle Seahawks running back Thomas Rawls rushed 17 times for 48 yards in the Seahawks' Week 4 win over the Detroit Lions on Monday night.

What It Means:

Rawls got the start in place of an injured Marshawn Lynch (hamstring), but couldn't get much going against the Lions. Both offenses struggled for the vast majority of the night. With Lynch only dealing with a Grade 1 strain, he should be back for Week 5 against the Cincinnati Bengals, sending Rawls to the bench.

Although it was a small sample size, Rawls entered the game ranked ninth in Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) Per Play at 1.80. He totaled -4.04 Rushing NEP in this one. Rawls remains a high-end backup behind an aging back who's been banged up.
