Steelers likely to franchise tag Le'Veon Bell in 2018 offseason
The Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to assign the franchise tag to running back Le'Veon Bell this offseason, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
Last fall, Bell held out on signing his $12.1 million franchise tender until September 4th, and Bell threatened a few days ago to retire if franchise-tagged for the second straight year: "I know what I do and what I bring to the table.... I'm not going out here getting the ball 400 times if I'm not getting what I feel I'm valued at." Rapoport notes the Steelers rarely budge in contract stare-downs, though. Despite Bell's star status, he'll likely be forced to sign a $14.5 million second-time franchise tag or take drastic measures.
There's no doubting that Bell is our top running back option for fantasy this weekend, with our models projecting him for 108.3 total yards and 1.0 touchdowns on 24.5 touches this week. That would come out to 18.57 FanDuel points at a salary of $9,400.
