Dolphins fire head coach Joe Philbin
The Miami Dolphins have fired head coach Joe Philbin, according to Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
Dan Campbell will take over the head-coaching role on an interim basis. The Dolphins fell to the New York Jets, 27-14, Sunday, bringing them to 1-3 on the season.
Sunday's game saw quarterback Ryan Tannehill finish with -18.47 Passing Net Expected Points (NEP), a topper on what has been a disappointing season thus far. The team entered Week 4 ranked 25th in Adjusted NEP per play and 26th in Adjusted Defensive NEP per play. They have a bye in Week 5 before facing the Tennessee Titans on the road in Week 6.
