Duke Johnson piles up 17 touches, touchdown in Browns' loss

Running back Duke Johnson rushed 8 times for 31 yards and caught 9-of-10 targets for 85 yards and a touchdown in the Cleveland Browns' Week 4 loss to the San Diego Chargers.

What It Means:

The rookie running back out of Miami showed his versatility in today's game, and made a strong case for greater usage in the Browns' offense. Gameflow also likely contributed to his workload, but second-year starter Isaiah Crowell also was able to put up strong production as well. It can't hurt to have more electric pass-catchers on the field, and Johnson proved that despite the loss.

Prior to this week, Johnson ranked outside the top-40 in Total Net Expected Points per play among running backs with 25 opportunities or more through Week 3. This should add some positives to his resume, but he's still likely a complementary back in this offense.
