Alex Collins not locked-in as Ravens' lead back for 2018

Baltimore Ravens running back Alex Collins isn't guaranteed the team's lead back role moving forward, head coach John Harbaugh said.

What It Means:

Harbaugh conceded that Collins "has proven the fact that he can be a very good back in this league," but he remained noncommittal on the starting job and stated that the Ravens are "looking to upgrade everything." Collins went from the practice squad in Week 1 to the NFL's 11th-leading rusher by the end of the regular season, but with a crowded backfield in Baltimore (2016 fourth-rounder Kenneth Dixon, Danny Woodhead, Buck Allen), Harbaugh will likely explore all of his options.

Collins averaged 10.7 FanDuel points across 15 games (12 starts) this season, with 212 rushes for 973 yards and 6 touchdowns, in addition to 23 catches (36 targets) for 187 scoreless receiving yards.
