Cincinnati Bengals re-sign head coach Marvin Lewis to a 2-year contract
The Cincinnati Bengals have announced they have signed head coach Marvin Lewis to a new two-year contract, keeping him with the team through the 2019 season.
Quite honestly a shocking move by the Bengals as Lewis' tenure appeared all but over following a disappointing 13-18-1 record the last 2 seasons. There was word earlier in the season that Lewis was considering other options but apparently decided to stay in Cincinnati for his 16th and 17th seasons, continuing his reign as the second-longest-tenured NFL coach (Bill Belichick).
Lewis has gone 125-112-3 in his 15 seasons, taking the Bengals to the playoffs 7 times but still hasn't been able to deliver a postseason win for Cincinnati. The Bengals are 0-7 in the playoffs under Lewis and have gone 27 years since their last win.
