Giants' Janoris Jenkins may require season-ending surgery

New York Giants defensive back Janoris Jenkins (ankle) could undergo season-ending ankle surgery, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.

What It Means:

Per Schefter, Jenkins "has played the past two months with a debilitating ankle injury that has limited his ability to cut and change direction." The Giants have no hopes for the playoffs so it's possible they decide to shut Jenkins down for the remainder of the season. The 29-year-old corner is expected to meet with doctors on Monday.

Jenkins has 31 tackles (29 solo) with 9 pass deflections, 3 interceptions, 1 forced fumble, and 2 touchdowns in nine games this season. As a unit, the Giants enter Week 12 ranked 23rd in Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points allowed per play.
