"You guys obviously know what we think of Jimmy in terms of why we brought him here. But we also think highly of C.J. [Beathard], enough to trade up to the third round to get him." There was some belief that Garoppolo would take over in Week 12 coming out of the 49ers' bye, but it sounds like Beathard may have earned himself another start.
