Cardinals' David Johnson's surgically-repaired wrist is 'still pretty weak'

Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson said that his surgically-repaired wrist is "still pretty weak" but that he's "making progress" toward a return to the playing field.

What It Means:

Johnson's cast was removed this but he still has stitches in. That probably has something to do with his limited range of motion and weakness, which is expected. He continues to rehab as he's able in hopes of returning "soon." The running back's been sidelined since Week 1 with a ligament tear. Adrian Peterson is serving as the team's workhorse back in the meantime.

Johnson has just 17 touches and 90 yards on the year. He ran for 1,239 yards and caught 80 balls for 879 more in 2016-17.
