Packers confirm Aaron Rodgers needs surgery on collarbone

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers needs surgery on his broken right collarbone, head coach Mike McCarthy revealed Monday.

What It Means:

There's no timetable available, but it remains unlikely that Rodgers is able to return this season. Brett Hundley will take over as the Packers' new starting quarterback. Joe Callahan will be the backup.

Prior to Week 6, Rodgers was averaging 22.0 FanDuel points per game this season. He's completed 128-of-193 passes for 1,385 yards with 13 touchdowns and 3 interceptions while adding 83 rushing yards.
