Vikings sign Stevan Ridley
The Minnesota Vikings have signed free agent running back Stevan Ridley.
What It Means:
This looks to just be a depth signing with Dalvin Cook (knee) done for the year. Ridley saw only 3 carries last year, bringing his total since leaving the New England Patriots after the 2014 season to 39 carries for 97 yards. He will sit behind Latavius Murray and Jerick McKinnon on the depth chart.
Ridley was very inefficient the last time he saw any real work in 2015, and his -0.21 Rushing Net Expected Points per carry ranked 84th among the 91 backs with at least 30 carries on the season.
