Saints' Adrian Peterson unhappy with Week 1 role

New Orleans Saints running back Adrian Peterson said that "he didn't sign up for nine snaps" when addressing his Week 1 role with the team.

What It Means:

In the Saints' 29-19 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, Peterson's nine snaps ranked third behind both Alvin Kamara (31 snaps) and Mark Ingram (26). That could largely be attributed to the way the game played out, as Peterson suggested himself, but the veteran clearly wants to be more involved in Week 2 and beyond. His lack of catching ability could limit him to positive game scripts, though.

After tallying 6 carries and 1 target in Week 1, Peterson is expected to produce 33.3 rushing yards, 0.30 rushing scores and 6.7 receiving yards on 8.8 rushes and 1.1 receptions against the New England Patriots. At $5,900, his projected 6.2 FanDuel points trail Ingram (9.3 FD points) and rank 43rd among all running backs on the slate.
