Star Lotulelei listed as out on Panthers' injury report
Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Star Lotulelei was listed as out on the team's injury report for Week 1, according to Max Henson of Panthers.com.
Head coach Ron Rivera said, "Not going to push it," according to Henson. It had been reported earlier in the week that Kyle Love would start in his place for Week 1.
Lotulelei missed two games last year, as well, as the Panthers finished 19th in our schedule-adjusted Defensive Rushing Net Expected Points per play. Even with the Week 1 news, our projections see Lotulelei recording 37 tackles and 2 sacks. Love last saw significant playing time in 2012 with the New England Patriots.
