Chris Hogan could lead Patriots in receptions
New England Patriots receiver Chris Hogan could lead the team in receptions in 2017.
NESN's Doug Kyed wrote earlier this week that he believes Hogan will lead the team in receptions despite the addition of Brandin Cooks. He expects Hogan to take over Julian Edelman's slot role and build off of the trust he's established with quarterback Tom Brady. Our numbers, on the other hand, favor Cooks over Hogan, with a 88.8-to-53.9 advantage in projected receptions.
In the Patriots' Week 1 meeting with the Kansas City Chiefs, Hogan is projected for 3.3 receptions, 49.7 yards and 0.31 touchdowns on 5.3 targets. He trails Cooks in all four categories and -- at $6,000 -- is in line to tally 8.5 FanDuel points Thursday night.
