Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott (suspension) will play Week 1
Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott will play Week 1 against the New York Giants, despite a six-game suspension to start the season.
Elliott's six-game suspension was upheld by arbitrator Harold Henderson, but because his appeal wasn't settled until after 4:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, he will be eligible and play on Sunday. He has filed a temporary restraining order and, if that is granted, he could continue to play until the legal issues are fully resolved. For now, Week 2 is up in the air but Elliott will definitely be in play for Week 1, rendering Darren McFadden and Alfred Morris obsolete for fantasy purposes.
The Cowboys face a tough matchup in a Giants defense that ranked 3rd against the run a year ago, but we still have Elliott down for 94.0 yards, 0.67 touchdowns and 17.6 FanDuel points at $8,700 on the Week 1 slate. He trails only Le'Veon Bell and David Johnson in both cost and projected output.
