Jaguars won't name starting quarterback, Colin Kaepernick a possibility

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone wouldn't name a starting quarterback following Thursday night's third preseason game against the Carolina Panthers.

What It Means:

Albeit against the Panthers' backups, Blake Bortles looked like a new man on Thursday while leading the Jaguars to two touchdown drives. Meanwhile, Chad Henne was rather unspectacular, leaving this competition wide-open. NFL.com's Gregg Rosenthal believes Henne will ultimately be the starter in Week 1 against the Houston Texans. Further muddling the situation, Jaguars owner Shahid Khan told Jaguars Today host Mike Dempsey that he would "absolutely" be open to signing Colin Kaepernick.

numberFire's models currently project Henne and Bortles to throw for a combined 3,746.3 yards with 21.72 touchdowns and 15.5 interceptions, with another 229.4 rushing yards and 1.89 touchdowns on the ground. That would make them our 21st-ranked fantasy quarterback entering the year.
