Panthers' Cam Newton (shoulder) out for Saturday's preseason game

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton will not play in Saturday's preseason game, according to ESPN's Diana Russini.

What It Means:

Newton is still recovering from offseason shoulder surgery and hasn't been a full-go in practice as a result. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that he won't suit up for the team's second preseason game against the Tennessee Titans. Derek Anderson will again lead the ones on Saturday night.

With the Panthers expecting Newton back and healthy for Week 1, we project him for 3,692.7 pass yards, 527.9 rush yards and 29.61 touchdowns in 2017. He's QB8 in our rankings and is, on average, being drafted as QB9 in standard drafts.
