Matt Forte (hamstring) will sit out the Jets' preseason game on Saturday
New York Jets running back Matt Forte (hamstring) will not play in Saturday's preseason game versus the Detroit Lions.
Forte has been limited most of training camp with a hamstring injury, and will likely not see much preseason action. The veteran RB doesn't need many reps this August to still get the starting nod in Week 1 but is in danger of being out of shape to start the season. The 31-year-old Forte is expected to split touches with Bilal Powell in the Jets' backfield with Powell getting more run in the passing game.
Our models project Forte for 913.9 total yards with 4.24 TDs on 283.9 touches for 114.6 fantasy points in standard leagues, making him our 32nd best running back in 2017.
