Ravens' Breshad Perriman (PCL) may be sidelined into October

Baltimore Ravens rookie receiver Breshad Perriman (sprained PCL) could be sidelined until October, said ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley.

What It Means:

Perriman sprained his PCL on the first practice of training camp. Hensley reports the injury usually carries a six-to-eight week timetable, which could push his return into the second month of the season. Even when he is able to return, Perriman is a raw prospect who missed valuable practice time in training camp. It is not guaranteed he immediately jumps into the starting lineup. Until then, it's Kamar Aiken's show opposite Steve Smith.

The Ravens ranked seventh in our schedule-adjusted Passing Net Expected Points metric last season, and Perriman has a legitimate opportunity for targets in this offense -- once he gets healthy. Our algorithms project Perriman to finish the season with 49 receptions, 629 receiving yards, and 4 receiving touchdowns.
