Panthers' Cam Newton (shoulder) throws in individual drills
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton (shoulder) threw during individual drills at Friday's practice.
It was his first time throwing since the end of July. Newton only threw for about 10 minutes, a sign that the Panthers will continue to take it slow as their franchise quarterback recovers from offseason shoulder surgery. Newton is still expected to suit up at some point during the preseason. His status for Week 1 has never been in doubt.
Our models project Newton for 3,693 passing yards, 24.48 touchdowns, and 13.46 interceptions on 526 passing attempts, adding 92 rushes for 528 rushing yards and 5.13 touchdowns.
