LeSean McCoy positive about availability for Bills season opener

Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy told ESPN reporter Josina Anderson 'I'll be ready' for the season opener against the Indianapolis Colts.

What It Means:

McCoy suffered a small tear in his hamstring during Bills practice on August 18th. McCoy participated in individual drills Friday for the first time since his injury. Rookie Karlos Williams should serve as the replacement if McCoy re-injures his hamstring.

The Bills ranked 29th in our schedule-adjusted Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) metric last season. McCoy ranked 17th out of 43 running backs with at least 100 carries with a -0.02 Rushing NEP per carry last year. Our algorithms project McCoy to finish the year with 1,361 rushing yards, 7 rushing touchdowns, 44 receptions, 281 receiving yards, and 1 receiving touchdown.
