Titans to use game-plan specific running back system

Tennessee Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt said the distribution of carries in the Titans backfield will depend on the weekly game-plan.

What It Means:

Bishop Sankey is currently slotted as number one on the Titans depth chart at running back ahead of rookie David Cobb. Cobb's Week 1 status is currently in doubt as he recovers from a calf injury. Sankey recorded 17 rushing yards on 6 carries in Thursday night's preseason finale.

The Titans ranked 20th in our schedule-adjusted Rushing Net Expected Points metric last season. We place Sankey as our highest-rated Tennessee running back. Our algorithms project Sankey to finish the year with 497 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns, 24 receptions, 177 receiving yards, and 1 receiving touchdown.
