Colts head coach Chuck Pagano in make-or-break year
Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano is entering a "make-or-break year," according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
There have been reports of a growing schism between Pagano and general manager Ryan Grigson in recent times. Though Grigson has made some questionable moves himself, Pagano has been panned for starting Reggie Wayne over Donte Moncrief last year and continuing to emphasize a game plan surrounding Trent Richardson instead of Andrew Luck.
Pagano has fielded the league's seventh-best and ninth-best offenses by schedule-adjusted Net Expected Points (NEP) in 2013 and 2014, respectively. The Colts even improved from 23rd in schedule-adjusted Defensive NEP per play in 2013 to 16th in 2014. We're not sure what more he can do besides win the Super Bowl this year, and it's possible that's what Grigson and ownership expect. Pagano may be looking for a job when 2016 rolls around.
