Tom Brady's suspension overturned; can play for Patriots in Week 1

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will be eligible to play Week 1 after a judge over-ruled his four-game suspension Wednesday.

What It Means:

Brady had appealed his suspension stemming from the team's alleged deflation of footballs during the 2014 playoffs to U.S. District Court Judge Richard Berman. Berman nullified the suspension. The Patriots face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1.

The Patriots -- with Brady at the helm -- finished 2014 ranked fifth in our schedule-adjusted Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play. Individually, Brady was also fifth in Passing NEP per play among quarterbacks who recorded at least 200 dropbacks. This will obviously have a positive fantasy impact on each piece of the Patriots' passing attack. Prior to the suspension being overturned, our algorithms projected Brady to throw for 3,426 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions.
