LeSean McCoy

Bills' LeSean McCoy at risk of missing Week 1

Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan expressed concern over running back LeSean McCoy's status for Week 1. Ryan said he has 'hope' McCoy will be ready, but if he is not available the 'next man has to step up.'

What It Means:

McCoy has a small tear in his hamstring, and he has not practiced since suffering the injury two weeks ago. Karlos Williams, Bryce Brown, and Anthony Dixon will receive an uptick in touches if McCoy remains sidelined.

The Bills ranked ranked 29th in our schedule-adjusted Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) metric last season. McCoy ranked 17th out of 43 running backs with at least 100 carries with a -0.02 Rushing NEP per carry last year. Our algorithms project McCoy to finish the year with 1,361 rushing yards, 7 rushing touchdowns, 44 receptions, 281 receiving yards, and 1 receiving touchdown.
