Arthur Jones

Colts' Arthur Jones to undergo ankle surgery

Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Arthur Jones could miss the entire season due to major ankle surgery. Jones could be placed on injured reserve/designated to return and miss the first eight games in a best case scenario.

What It Means:

Jones suffered the injury during Saturday's preseason game against the Rams. Jones signed a five-year, $33 million contract last offseason, but he has been marred by injuries the past two seasons. Jones missed seven games last season also due to ankle injuries.

The Colts ranked 15th in our schedule-adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points metric last season. Our algorithms projected Jones to finish the year with 36 tackles and 3.5 sacks prior to the injury. We place the Colts as our ninth-ranked fantasy defense for this year.
