Saints' Keenan Lewis (hip) out four to six weeks

New Orleans Saints cornerback Keenan Lewis will be out four to six weeks after undergoing hip surgery on Tuesday.

What It Means:

This is a big loss for the Saints' secondary as Lewis is the top cover cornerback on the roster. This injury will shift offseason acquisition Brandon Browner into the number one cornerback spot early in the season. Rookie Delvin Breaux is likely to shift into the starting lineup as a result of Lewis' injury.

The Saints ranked 29th in our schedule-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points metric last season. Our algorithms projected Lewis to finish the year with 49 tackles and 3 interceptions prior to the injury. We place the Saints as our 25th-ranked fantasy defense.
