The New York Giants are 'optimistic' middle linebacker Jon Beason will play Week 1, according to Jordan Raanan of NJ.com.
Beason sprained his knee during the Giants' second preseason game, but he was seen doing individual drills on Tuesday. Beason is slotted atop the Giants depth chart at middle linebacker.
