John Fox 'terse and non-specific' about Alshon Jeffery (calf)
Chicago Bears coach John Fox was "terse and non-specific" when asked about receiver Alshon Jeffery's calf injury on Tuesday.
Jeffery hasn't practiced since August 11th. Fox's Tuesday attitude is alarming on its face, but there's still no compelling reason to believe Jeffery won't be ready for Week 1.
The Bears ranked 27th in our schedule-adjusted Passing Net Expected Points metric last season. Jeffery ranked 18th among wide receivers with at least 100 targets with a 0.73 Reception NEP per target last season. Our algorithms project Jeffery to finish the year with 92 receptions, 1,278 yards, and 9 receiving touchdowns.
