Sammy Watkins returns to Bills' practice
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins (glute) returned to practice Monday.
Watkins is expected to be ready for the season opener against the Indianapolis Colts. Watkins totaled one catch for six yards in one game this preseason. He is pegged atop the Bills depth chart at wide receiver. Watkins will be catching passes from Tyrod Taylor to start the season.
The Bills ranked 14th in our schedule-adjusted Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) metric last season. Watkins ranked 19th out of 40 wide receivers with at least 100 targets with a 0.70 Reception NEP per target last year. Our algorithms project Watkins to finish the year with 75 receptions, 1,093 receiving yards, and six receiving touchdowns, as our 17th-ranked fantasy wide receiver.
