Reggie Wayne

Reggie Wayne already working with Patriots starters

Reggie Wayne was held without a catch in the New England Patriots' third preseason game, but played 20 snaps, all with the first-team.

What It Means:

There can't be a lot left in the 37-year old Wayne's tank, but it's certainly interesting to see him working with the starters so soon after being signed out of free agency. With Brandon LaFell in a walking boot and Aaron Dobson struggling like usual, the Pats may be turning to Wayne just to stay afloat.

Wayne's goose is pretty much cooked in the NFL. Last season, on 116 targets, he was 38th out of 40 receivers with 100 targets or more in Target Net Expected Points, 35th out of 40 in per-play Reception NEP, and had just a 55.17% catch rate. That's not the sure-handed Wayne we all remember, but if he's seeing regular targets in New England, he's worth monitoring in your fantasy leagues.
