Jeremy Maclin

Chiefs WR Maclin continues to thrill in preseason

Jeremy Maclin caught seven passes for 65 yards and a touchdown in the Kansas City Chiefs' third preseason game against the Tennessee Titans.

What It Means:

Who said Alex Smith hates wide receivers? Maclin is showing no sign of a payday slump, as the Chiefs' new $55 million man caught a 29-yard laser from his quarterback in tight coverage last night. He now has 10 receptions for 87 yards and two touchdowns in the last two preseason games.

We knew Jeremy Maclin was this good, but we're shocked at Alex Smith's aggressiveness so far. After his first two seasons eclipsing 500 drop backs in 2013 and 2014, Smith may be in line for greatly increased production with Maclin in the fold. Smith is steady - he ranked 14th in per-play Passing Net Expected Points last year - but never phenomenal. Both he and Maclin are undervalued at their current ADPs if this connection holds up.
