Dolphins' Jay Ajayi could near 2,000 all-purpose yards
Miami Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi "could put up 1,900 total yards if he stays healthy," ESPN's James Walker believes.
Projecting him for nearly 1,500 rushing yards is not far-fetched considering Ajayi rumbled for 1,272 yards in 12 starts last season, although three 200-yard games certainly bolstered that count. Ajayi logged just 151 yards through the air last year, so 250 to 350 more receiving yards would be more of a stretch – that said, the back has earned consistent praise for his improvement in the passing game all offseason. Only two running backs managed 1,900 total yards last year -- David Johnson and Ezekiel Elliott.
Our models project Ajayi to total 1,131 rushing yards and 8.98 touchdowns on 246 carries, with 45 receptions for 318 receiving yards and 0.56 touchdowns.
