Ryan Fitzpatrick heading to Tampa Bay on one-year deal

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, formerly of the New York Jets to a one-year contract.

What It Means:

ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that the deal is worth $3 million, assuming he beats out Ryan Griffin to be Jameis Winston's backup. Fitzpatrick wasn't putting up too much magic last season with 12 touchdowns and 17 picks in 14 games. He finished with a YPA of less than seven for the second year in a row in 2016.

Fitzpatrick earned -0.01 Passing Net Expected Points per drop back in 2016, the seventh-worst rate among the 39 quarterbacks to drop back at least 100 times.
