Bryce Petty (shoulder) on track for Jets' OTAs

New York Jets quarterback Bryce Petty (shoulder) said he will participate in OTAs.

What It Means:

Petty said he is 100 percent recovered from January surgery to repair a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder. The Jets still could take it easy on him during the offseason program, but he should be a full-go well before training camp. Petty is theoretically part of the Jets' quarterback competition, but he looks like a distant third behind Josh McCown and Christian Hackenberg.

The Jets finished 26th in schedule-adjusted Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play last season. Among the 39 quarterbacks with at least 100 drop backs, McCown was 31st in Passing NEP per drop back.
