Packers' Vince Biegel recovering from foot surgery
Green Bay Packers rookie outside linebacker Vince Biegel is recovering from foot surgery to repair a "Jones" fracture, and is questionable for the start of training camp.
What It Means:
Biegel first dealt with the issue as a senior at Wisconsin last year. It's strikingly poor news for a player already facing a bevy of questions as a prospect. Elderly for a rookie (as he turns 24 in July), Biegel is undersized for an edge rusher (6'3", 246 pounds) and put a lot of bad plays on film in the Big 10.
The Packers finished last season ranked 22nd in schedule-adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points allowed per play.
