Jay Cutler turning in cleats for a broadcast booth
Free agent quarterback Jay Cutler announced his retirement from the NFL after 11 seasons.
Cutler is taking the Tony Romo route into broadcasting, signing with FOX Sports instead of pursuing a backup quarterback job. He reportedly wanted to continue playing football, but no one was interested in the 34-year-old's services. Cutler spent three years with the Denver Broncos and another eight in Chicago with the Bears. He made the playoffs once.
For his career, Cutler finishes with a 68-71 record while throwing for 32,467 yards with 208 touchdowns and 146 interceptions. He made the playoffs once.
