Vikings opt not to pick up Teddy Bridgewater's (knee) option for 2018
The Minnesota Vikings chose to decline Teddy Bridgewater's 2018 team option.
The Vikings were never going to exercise the option for a player who may not be able to ever play professional football again. Bridgewater is expected to begin the season on the reserve PUP list before a re-evaluation in October, according to reporter Tom Pelissero. Sam Bradford is going to start for Minnesota again in 2017.
Bridgewater finished 31st in Passing Net Expected Points per drop back among the 39 quarterbacks in 2015 with at least 150 drop backs.
