ArDarius Stewart replenishes Jets receiving corps at 79th overall
The New York Jets selected Alabama wide receiver ArDarius Stewart with the 79th overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
The 5’11", 204 pound Stewart was a two-year starter on the highly competitive Tuscaloosa depth chart. He combines explosive 4.49 speed and a solid 10-foot-4 broad jump with powerful shiftiness and impressive run-after-catch skills. Poor quarterback play at Alabama held him back, but the Crimson Tide coaching staff actively manufactured touches for him. Stewart has a chance to develop into a solid secondary NFL receiver.
Stewart compiled a career 1,713 yards on 129 catches (13.3 yards per reception) with 12 touchdowns. The Jets' receivers earned the ninth-least Reception Net Expected Points per target among wide receiving corps in 2016.
