Titans trade up to take Taywan Taylor at 72nd slot
The Tennessee Titans traded up with the New England Patriots to select Western Kentucky Hilltoppers wide receiver Taywan Taylor with the 72nd overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
The Titans surrendered the 83rd and 124th picks to select their second receiver of the draft. The 5’11", 203-pound wideout broke every single-season and career receiving record in Hilltoppers history as a four-year starter. Taylor is smallish, but still capable of winning both outside and in the slot.
When facing NFL-caliber SEC defenses, Taylor earned a combined 133 receiving yards on 18 catches (7.39 yards per reception) against Alabama and Vanderbilt. For his career, he had 4,234 yards on 253 catches (16.7 yards per reception) and 41 touchdowns. Titans' receivers earned the second-fewest total Reception Net Expected Points in 2016.
