Case Keenum joins Vikings to compete for third-string role
The Minnesota Vikings signed quarterback Case Keenum, formerly of the Los Angeles Rams, to a one-year, $2 million contract.
Keenum made nine starts last year before falling behind Jared Goff on the Rams' quarterback depth chart. He'll compete with Taylor Heinicke for third-string duties behind Sam Bradford and Teddy Bridgewater, who is still recovering from last year's catastrophic knee injury.
Among the 39 quarterbacks with at least 100 drop backs in 2016, Keenum's -0.05 Passing Net Expected Points per drop back was sixth-lowest.
