Browns haven't given up on Patriots' Jimmy Garoppolo
The Cleveland Browns "[will] make another run" at trading for New England Patriots quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo at this week's Owners Meetings, a source told ESPN Cleveland's Tony Grossi.
It'll be easier to discuss a potential deal in person while everyone is convening in Phoenix for a few days of meetings. There have been a handful of reports suggesting the Patriots are adamant about not trading Garoppolo, but the Browns remain steadfast in their efforts. Grossi thinks it'll either be Garoppolo or Cody Kessler under center for Cleveland by the time Week 1 rolls around.
If Garoppolo had qualified, his 0.44 Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop back would have ranked first among all quarterbacks with at least 100 drop backs in 2016. As a team, the Browns finished 26th in schedule-adjusted Passing NEP per play.
