Adrian Peterson

Adrian Peterson a possible fit for Raiders, Lions

The Oakland Raiders and Detroit Lions are potential landing spots to "keep an eye on" for free agent running back Adrian Peterson, suggested CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora.

What It Means:

The Vikings' signing of Latavius Murray on Thursday means Peterson won't be returning to Minnesota, but it might create an opportunity for him in Oakland's backfield. There hasn't been too much talk about the Lions' interest in Peterson, so this is probably more speculation than anything tangible. Even then, both destinations could make sense if they believe the veteran back has anything left in the tank. Peterson turns 32 next week.

There were 88 running backs to notch at least 30 rushing attempts last year. Peterson earned -0.39 Rushing Net Expected Points per attempt, by far the worst rate among that group.
